A Scottish Government scheme, new in 2026, giving first-time buyers up to £10,000 towards a first home worth up to £300,000 on its home report value. The money is not a gift: the Scottish Government takes a proportionate share of the property, so £10,000 on a £100,000 home means it owns 10%. You need a mortgage covering at least 25% of the purchase price and usually a deposit of around 5%, and where you're buying with someone else only one of you has to be a first-time buyer. Not to be confused with the older First Home Fund, which ran from December 2019 to March 2022 and is closed.
Amount
Up to £10,000 towards a first home worth up to £300,000, in exchange for a proportionate Scottish Government equity share
Deadline
Rolling / no fixed deadline
This one is usually simple enough to do yourself using the free official link below — but if you'd rather have help, we're building relationships with vetted professionals and can let you know if that becomes available.
Some of the organisations we may connect you with pay us a referral fee if you use their service. This never affects which listings you see in the directory. No live partner is confirmed yet for this listing.
You can also do this yourself for free via the official sourceCheck the eligibility conditions on mygov.scot's First Homes Fund pages and apply via the route given there; confirm the fund is still open before applying, as the scheme is new and cash-limited.
