Future Farming Investment Scheme (FFIS) — Scotland

Scottish Government / Rural Payments and Services

Description

Scotland's capital grant scheme for farm business investment, helping active farmers and crofters improve business efficiency, environmental performance, and resilience to climate change — funding items such as improving soil quality, creating hedgerows, and upgrading livestock management infrastructure. Round 1 ran 14 July-22 August 2025 and is now closed; a second round is confirmed to open from winter 2026, with at least 725 farming and crofting businesses expected to share an indicative £14.25 million budget. Enhanced support rates are planned for new entrants to farming (up to 80% of eligible costs) and Highlands and Islands-based businesses (up to 60%), alongside standard rates for other applicants.

Up to £20,000 per business, covering up to 100% of eligible costs depending on declared agricultural land area and applicant category (standard, new entrant up to 80%, or Highlands and Islands up to 60%)
