Notes: Apply online, by downloadable paper form, or in person at the Dearne Area team office at the Goldthorpe Centre. RE-ATTEMPTED (23 Aug 2026): this officialUrl still returns a genuine 404 via both WebFetch and a direct browser fetch. The council's newer regeneration URL structure now hosts a 'Towns Fund Deal Goldthorpe' overview page (barnsley.gov.uk/services/regeneration-in-barnsley/key-regeneration-projects/towns-fund-deal-goldthorpe, confirmed live) which describes the £23.1m Towns Fund investment entirely in the past tense ('the Towns Fund delivered... information correct at time of publication, March 2026') and lists no live business-security-grant link among its current or upcoming projects. However, the application guidance PDF at barnsley.gov.uk/media/rlhdqyix/goldthorpe-business-security-grant-application-guidance.pdf still downloads successfully (not 404), and a fresh WebSearch still surfaces the same £2,500/20%-match description as if current. On balance this now looks more like a scheme that has quietly wound down alongside the completed Towns Fund programme than a simple page-migration issue, but nothing found states this explicitly — still could not be confirmed either way. Verify via shopfrontgrants@barnsley.gov.uk before referring users.
Requirement: Businesses located on Barnsley Road, Doncaster Road, or High Street in Goldthorpe, providing at least 20% match funding towards the project cost.
