Rural England Prosperity Fund

Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (delivered via local authorities)

Description

Confirmed via an August 2026 verification pass that this scheme ended 31 March 2026 alongside its parent UK Shared Prosperity Fund — and unlike UKSPF, REPF has no direct national successor. A top-up to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund aimed specifically at rural England, it funded small capital grants for farm diversification projects and rural micro/small businesses, plus community infrastructure, delivered through local authorities with eligibility and grant sizes set locally. Some areas within the 11 Mayoral Strategic Authorities may be able to access rural-relevant projects through their Combined Authority's Local Growth Fund allocation from April 2026, but coverage is patchy and weighted toward metropolitan areas — rural England outside those areas, and the South West in particular, currently has no equivalent replacement.

Amount

Varies by local authority; typically small capital grants for rural businesses (scheme has now ended nationally, no direct successor)

Deadline

31 March 2026

Eligibility summary

  • Available in: England.
  • Applicant must be a registered business.
  • Most relevant to: Agriculture & Fisheries, Hospitality & Tourism.
Notes
Superseded scheme — kept here for reference only. If in a Mayoral Strategic Authority area, check your Combined Authority's Local Growth Fund; otherwise there is currently no direct successor for rural business/community grants.
