Scottish Enterprise
Status refresh (August 2026): SMART: SCOTLAND is confirmed on hold — Scottish Enterprise's own page is titled 'SMART: SCOTLAND grants - on hold' and states it is not currently accepting new applications, with a replacement fund due to launch in late autumn 2026. While it was live, it funded Scottish SMEs (up to 249 employees) to carry out either a technical feasibility study or a full R&D project developing an innovative new product or service, covering up to 70% of eligible costs for small enterprises or up to 60% for medium enterprises. Feasibility studies could receive up to £100,000 over 6–18 months; details of the successor fund's amounts and scope have not yet been published.
