Town Centre Premises Grant (Renfrewshire)

Description

Renfrewshire Council grant, delivered with Invest in Renfrewshire, helping small and medium-sized businesses (fewer than 250 employees worldwide) move into empty ground-floor commercial premises across Paisley, Johnstone, Renfrew, Linwood, or Erskine town centres. Covers up to 50% match funding, to a maximum of £25,000, paid retrospectively once the project is complete and suppliers have been paid. A number of sectors are excluded, including betting shops, tanning services, and fast-food outlets; applications are accepted year-round.

Notes

Excludes certain sectors: multi-level marketing, controlled franchises, betting shops, pawnbrokers, beauty/tanning services, gaming arcades, tobacconists/vape shops, fast-food outlets, convenience stores, adult content shops, and politically/religiously/charitably focused businesses. Paid retrospectively once the project is complete and suppliers paid.

Requirement

SMEs (fewer than 250 employees worldwide) with a business bank account, trading full-time, not in debt to the council and not in bankruptcy/liquidation, moving into a previously vacant (empty at least 6 months, meeting Fresh Start Relief criteria) ground-floor commercial premises in Paisley, Johnstone, Renfrew, Linwood, or Erskine town centres. Applicants must take a lease of at least 36 months as the sole named tenant, offer a product or service not already available in the area, and — if already trading from another property — continue trading there for at least 2 years after moving into the new premises. Community, voluntary, and charitable groups are not eligible.
