Crisis and Resilience Fund (Greenwich)

Royal Borough of Greenwich

Description

Royal Greenwich's local Crisis and Resilience Fund — the council's replacement for the Household Support Fund, which ended nationally on 31 March 2026 — running April 2026 to March 2029 and always open for applications. Provides a Crisis Payment Scheme for sudden, unexpected financial emergencies, Community Support Awards for basic furniture or household items, and targeted automatic payments for specific groups — including £250 for eligible care leavers and vulnerable households (summer and winter) and £60 per person for households in temporary hotel accommodation. Every application comes with an offer of free longer-term support: debt advice, benefits checks, and budgeting help.

Amount

Discretionary for the general Crisis Payment Scheme; £250 (targeted seasonal payments) or £60/person (temporary hotel accommodation) for specific automatic strands

Deadline

Rolling / no fixed deadline

Eligibility summary

  • Available in: England.
  • Open to individuals — not restricted to businesses.
  • Relevant income bands: earning under the Personal Allowance.
Notes
Most emergency support and Community Support Award amounts are not published as fixed figures — the £250 and £60-per-person figures relate specifically to targeted, largely automatic payments rather than the general Crisis Payment Scheme.
Requirement
Royal Greenwich residents facing a financial crisis, subject to the council's published eligibility criteria; some targeted payments (e.g. care leavers, households with no recourse to public funds, temporary-accommodation residents) have their own additional requirements.
