Northern Ireland Housing Executive
Northern Ireland's mandatory adaptations grant, administered by the Housing Executive rather than a council. On a low income you can get grant aid up to £35,000, and in some cases the Housing Executive can increase the award to a maximum of £70,000 — noticeably higher than the caps in England (£30,000) and Wales (£36,000). The work has to be recommended by an occupational therapist, and the route in is your local Health and Social Care Trust rather than the Housing Executive directly. It is means-tested, with a calculation deciding whether you contribute towards the cost.

This one is usually simple enough to do yourself using the free official link below — but if you'd rather have help, we're building relationships with vetted professionals and can let you know if that becomes available.
Some of the organisations we may connect you with pay us a referral fee if you use their service. This never affects which listings you see in the directory. No live partner is confirmed yet for this listing.
You can also do this yourself for free via the official sourceContact your local Health and Social Care Trust (or ask your GP or social worker to refer you); they start the process and contact the Housing Executive, whose grants office handles the application itself.
